Weighted heavy,
Drags (budding flowers, fluffy clouds and baby birdsong) below:
Peering far
Sees (silent lines, averted eyes, and trickled angst) waiting above…
Sweeping vast
Unveils the ship sinking quick while we buck and jive about.
Jumping free,
But now a slick ocean of waste current-rips our aims adrift.
Lay aside
All I tried to scream to your wax-filled ears; I’m over
Holding you
Astride shattered scales and delusions you hid under:
Sheens of anxious
Sweat, toiled rich, through fear, runs around, never toward
Clear light
From a sensible hand to grasp; you flail and push away
All threats
That cracked the shell indoctrination put between
Beating heart
And the source held at the crux your spiral self swirls around.
It never
Brought a chance along in fate when dark came near
And now,
Hope in nature – blooming wild despite desertion – fled so far…
We retreat
Into memory, reverie, the easy nostalgia of a false past.
We abandon
Ourselves and all potential in grim walks toward the future —
“In this together,”
While censored into silence, apart.
Told I’m “with”,
But accusing stares push me “without”.
Locked down —
But my heart points up…
Forced in —
But my hands reach out…
