They said get out the way
While I pointed at the cliff looming ahead

I dredged up from depths of patience 
like an ancient river sludging the depth of the deepest ocean trenches
All resolve built thick from kicking shins on tree trunks
Heavy with burls of torn up 
Hatred turned to radiated love
Indignance turned to absorbed reflections 
Defeat turned to strong resolve

Let my patience born of chaotic terror soothed
So many nights ago
In fetal curls of wailing tear streaked
Fury and abandon and, at last, absolution

Dig down deep through walls of concrete
Mud like clay blocking purchase
Into the supple earth of relenting presence…

And there sleeps peace

My mother waited, void-like in neverending matrix of empty choice
And the roots I planted in that depth imploded
Through portaled unity
Into a father’s sky full and germinating
Radiant golden showers
Of ultimate emanation

That cannot be wielded
Nor directed
Nor forced
Nor intended
Nor manifested

And can only be held as is
As one
As i am

In every urge we push a form forth into the world
We exercise a muscle never meant to unfurl
When we let go that desire
Allowing atrophic entropy’s decay to eat away
Our every urge, thought, feeling and action

That hollow bone lifts us into space
(The only one in which we exist)
Lifts us high into the moment
(The only one that persists)
And through the form made solid ossified and sure

In the emptiness between – left clear and whole –
Comes all that ever was and all that ever could be

And then there was never any division, duality, push, resistance,
Or even cliff
At all
